I ’m rounding out my series of simple cookie designs, with these cheery and colorful Christmas tree cookies. While my snowflake cookies and coffee mug cookies veer away from the usual holiday color palette, these cookies add a dose of traditional Christmas green to the mix.
I wanted my Christmas trees to have snow-lined branches and pops of color without having to mix a zillion different colors.
Enter sprinkles! Rainbow nonpareils are fabulous and worth having around the house if you like to decorate miniature-sized cakes, your nightly bowl of ice cream, or a spinach-packed smoothie. Truly, all things are made better with sprinkles!
To get this mellow holiday green, I mixed Americolor Lemon Yellow and Americolor Violet with a touch of Americolor Sky Blue. There’s probably a better way to get to this green, but I don’t know it, so there ya go!
Americolor Bright White made for the snowy bits and the garland base. A sprinkle of sprinkles to the garland (here’s a technique for not making a big sprinkles mess) and voila!
This cookie cutter comes from my favorite collection and makes for a nice-sized cookie. Not too big, not too small!
