While I cringe at many of the cookies from my early decorating days, two years ago for St. Patrick’s Day I made sparkly shamrock cookies and St. Patty’s Day Cupcake Cookies, which I still love to pieces! Last year, I was a bit lazy and decided to ride on the coattails of my awesome cookie friends’ creations, but this year, I’m bringing St. Patty’s back to MMCM!
I’ve already got some Leprechan Girls under my belt. Add to that list, the sweetest shamrock cookie couple around!
First up, making her debut, Ms. Shamrock!
And her partner in love and in life, Mr. Shamrock!
Can ya’ll believe I actually made boy cookies? First time for everything!
These cookies literally could not be easier. One color. Plenty of sprinkles.
- 20 second icing, Americolor Leaf Green
- Black 4mm candy beads
- Edible black marker
- Big red heart sprinkles
- Pink confetti quins/sprinkles
First up, fill shamrocks with green icing and drop in two beads for eyes.
Let the icing dry fully, 8 to 12 hours, and then use a touch of green icing to glue on pink confetti quins for the shamrocks cheeks.
I thought that both Mr. and Ms. Shamrock would look lovely with pink cheeks.
For the hair-bow and bow-tie, I started by “glueing” one heart down and holding it in space a moment or two to set. I then layered the second heart on top with a touch of icing to glue it in place.
From this angle, you can see how the sprinkles overlap. I liked this look because it made the sprinkles look more tied together instead of like to hearts turned to the side.
For the gal shamrocks, draw on eyelashes and that’s a wrap!
One color, mega easy, ultra cute!
Specials thanks to Amazing Service Guy for the wonderful review on my cookies!
